Full Charge Bookkeeper

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to support day-to-day accounting operations for a business based in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The ideal candidate is someone who can independently manage core bookkeeping functions, maintain accurate financial records, and keep accounting processes running smoothly. The role offers the chance to contribute across payables, receivables, reconciliations, and payroll while working extensively in Quick Books.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee the full bookkeeping cycle, ensuring financial transactions are recorded accurately and supported by proper documentation.

- Process vendor invoices, schedule payments, and maintain organized accounts payable records to support timely disbursements.

- Manage customer billing, post incoming payments, and follow up on outstanding balances to keep accounts receivable current.

- Complete regular bank and account reconciliations to verify balances and resolve discrepancies promptly.

- Prepare and process bi-monthly payroll with close attention to accuracy, deadlines, and employee payment records.

- Maintain and update company financial data within Quick Books Desktop and Quick Books Enterprise, ensuring information remains reliable and current.

- Produce routine financial reports and assist with account reviews to support informed business decisions.

- Identify bookkeeping issues, investigate variances, and recommend practical corrections to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Requirements - Demonstrated experience handling full charge bookkeeping responsibilities in a detail-oriented setting.

- Proficiency with Quick Books, including hands-on use of Quick Books Desktop and Quick Books Enterprise.

- Strong working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation procedures.

- Experience processing payroll on a bi-monthly schedule with a high degree of accuracy.

- Ability to manage multiple accounting activities independently while meeting deadlines.

- Solid attention to detail and organizational skills for maintaining complete and accurate financial records.

- Effective written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with internal stakeholders and external contacts.
