Overview

Bookkeeper - Full Charge based in Virginia Beach, VA (Oceanfront). The opportunity focuses on bookkeeping, payroll, and finance management with some administrative and executive support duties.

Responsibilities
  • Keep the books and perform payroll activities.
  • Administer human resources functions and assist executives with day-to-day tasks.
  • Prepare presentations, proof papers, plan minor projects, and track progress of assigned projects.
  • Handle bookkeeping using spreadsheet programs and Quick Books.
  • Note taking, scheduling, maintaining multiple calendars, report writing, and email communications.
  • Plan travel, logistics, and events; provide ongoing status updates to stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
  • Office management duties as needed, including running errands and tidying office areas to enhance the overall office experience.
  • Physical duties typical for an office role (walking, standing, sitting, operating equipment, lifting, moving, and light carrying) and fast typing.
Qualifications
  • US Citizenship (or authorized to work in the USA)
  • College degree (or two years of college minimum)
  • Proficiency with computers and software (Internet/web apps)
  • Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute
  • Bookkeeping experience using Quick Books or equivalent software
  • Experience with payroll and benefits administration
  • Experience with employer required filings and taxes (not corporate income tax)
  • Experience using Apple productivity apps (Mac-friendly)
  • Experience budgeting and estimating various items (spreadsheet proficiency)
  • Experience with shipping (UPS, Fed Ex, DHL, etc.)
  • Experience booking travel
  • Several positive personal or professional references

Compensation and Experience
  • No prior professional experience required
  • $55,000 to $85,000 depending on experience and results
