Overview
Bookkeeper - Full Charge based in Virginia Beach, VA (Oceanfront). The opportunity focuses on bookkeeping, payroll, and finance management with some administrative and executive support duties.
Responsibilities- Keep the books and perform payroll activities.
- Administer human resources functions and assist executives with day-to-day tasks.
- Prepare presentations, proof papers, plan minor projects, and track progress of assigned projects.
- Handle bookkeeping using spreadsheet programs and Quick Books.
- Note taking, scheduling, maintaining multiple calendars, report writing, and email communications.
- Plan travel, logistics, and events; provide ongoing status updates to stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
- Office management duties as needed, including running errands and tidying office areas to enhance the overall office experience.
- Physical duties typical for an office role (walking, standing, sitting, operating equipment, lifting, moving, and light carrying) and fast typing.
- US Citizenship (or authorized to work in the USA)
- College degree (or two years of college minimum)
- Proficiency with computers and software (Internet/web apps)
- Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute
- Bookkeeping experience using Quick Books or equivalent software
- Experience with payroll and benefits administration
- Experience with employer required filings and taxes (not corporate income tax)
- Experience using Apple productivity apps (Mac-friendly)
- Experience budgeting and estimating various items (spreadsheet proficiency)
- Experience with shipping (UPS, Fed Ex, DHL, etc.)
- Experience booking travel
- Several positive personal or professional references
- Public Notary
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Human Resources Management
- Payroll and Benefits Administration
- Involvement in PMI organization
- Experience in corporate tax preparation
- Experience with technical writing
- No prior professional experience required
- $55,000 to $85,000 depending on experience and results
