Overview

Business Continuity Manager role at Blue Ridge Bank in Virginia Beach, VA. The position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the Bank's Business Continuity Management Plan (BCMP) to ensure continued operations during disruptions or disasters and to manage the Bank's response to such events.

• Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive business continuity program aligned with company objectives, risk tolerance, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and maintain business continuity plans for key functions, including incident response procedures, crisis management, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Collaborate with senior management, functional heads, and IT to integrate the business continuity program into the overall risk management framework.
• Assist each business unit in identifying critical processes and ensuring their availability during disruptions.
• Manage the bank's response to disruptions or disasters, activate the BCMP, and coordinate with internal departments and external organizations as needed.
• Conduct regular tests and drills of the BCMP to ensure effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with requirements.
• Stay current on emerging threats and industry best practices related to business continuity and disaster recovery.
• Monitor the external environment for potential threats and update the BCMP accordingly.
• Provide training and awareness to employees on the BCMP and their roles during a disruption.
• Stay up to date with industry best practices, regulations, and standards related to business continuity and risk management.
• Maintain appropriate documentation of the BCMP and related activities.
• Manage the business continuity application platform and the emergency notification system (ENS) for the Bank.
• Prepare business continuity reports and assist with executive or board presentations as needed.

College degree or relevant experience in a related field (IT, Banking, etc.).

• Experience with Project Management
• Experience with BCP planning and execution
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• Organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong decision-making and problem-resolution abilities
• Analytical skills, math skills, and customer service skills
• Effective verbal and written communication in English
• Experience with in Banking or a related field

• Ability to learn bank programed software
• Ability to build and maintain relationships while providing excellent service
• Ability to work all branch hours, remote or in office, including weekends and evenings
• Ability to work within a team environment
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedures, general business correspondence, and regulations
• Ability to interact with the public in person or on the phone following the Bank's Customer Service Standards
