About the Role

JLGOV is seeking an organized, detail-oriented professional to join our executive team as an Office Management Specialist. This position offers a structured mentorship program with direct training from the CEO and current Business Manager, providing a clear pathway into the Business Manager role.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking long-term career growth in operations, executive administration, and business management within a growing federal government contractor.

  • Year 1:
    Fully on-site for hands-on mentorship, executive support, and operational training.
  • Year 2+:
    Eligible for a hybrid schedule (2-3 days per week on-site) upon successful completion of performance milestones.
  • First 90 Days:
    Structured onboarding, shadowing, training, and performance evaluation.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide executive administrative support, including calendar management, correspondence, meeting coordination, and travel planning.
  • Train alongside the Business Manager to learn company operations, contract administration, finance coordination, compliance, and business management.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with JLGOV's third-party Human Resources provider.
  • Coordinate office operations, vendor relationships, procurement, and administrative activities.
  • Support recruiting, employee onboarding, proposal development, and other corporate initiatives.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel and AI productivity tools to improve reporting, workflow automation, and operational efficiency.
  • Handle sensitive business information with professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
Minimum Qualifications Required
  • Minimum 18 months of experience in a professional office or corporate environment.
  • Associate's degree in Business, Management, Communications, or a related field.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, professionalism, and sound judgment.
  • Experience using—or willingness to learn—AI productivity tools.
Employment Requirements

Because JLGOV supports U.S. Government customers, employees in this position may access controlled contract information, procurement-sensitive information, customer systems, or other non-public government-related information while performing internal business operations.

  • Applicants must be U.S. citizens.

Career Growth & Compensation Year 1 - Office Management Specialist
  • $20.00 per hour
  • Health benefits begin after 90 days.
  • Focus on executive support, HR coordination, business operations, and mastering company workflows.
Year 2 - Business Manager
  • $23.00 per hour (15% increase)
  • Eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
  • Assumes responsibility for day-to-day business operations, contract compliance, executive coordination, and office management.

To advance into the Business Manager role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to:

  • Independently manage executive scheduling, communications, and priorities.
  • Lead vendor management, procurement tracking, and office operations.
  • Coordinate HR activities with JLGOV's third-party HR provider.
  • Improve operational efficiency through Microsoft Excel and AI-enabled workflow automation.
  • Consistently exercise sound judgment, confidentiality, and executive-level professionalism.
