Senior Construction Inspector

Job Description

This opportunity is for Senior Construction Inspectors with WSP, reporting to the client site in Norfolk, VA, working on the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel Expansion Project and other major long‑term highway and bridge projects in the Hampton Roads region.

Responsibilities:

• Provide construction inspections and audits for your discipline.
• Observe and document QC/QA activities to verify compliance with the Quality Management Plan.
• Perform Hold Point inspections, Independent Verification inspections, and tests.
• Focus on quality, construction and production issues at multiple locations.
• Track and document quality, construction, and schedule issues and assist with issue resolution.
• Assist with tracking and documenting contract quantities, changes, and delays.
• Conduct and document observations on construction progress, including knowledge of construction materials, testing methods, and processes.
• Prepare daily work reports and maintain project documentation.

• High School Diploma.
• Minimum of 5 years of post‑education experience in construction oversight and inspection for your discipline.
• Knowledge of construction methods, techniques, and inspection practices.
• Essential professional licensure or certification such as ACI, NICET, VDOT, etc.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Demonstrated experience in similar roles on infrastructure projects.
• Able to work night shifts and weekends as necessary.
• Able to read and interpret plans, specifications and quality processes.
• Must pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.
• Subject to a client‑mandated background check and fingerprinting.

• College Degree.
