Maintenance Worker, Construction Labor ​/ Trades, Road Construction

Public Works is currently hiring aMaintenance Workerfor the Street Maintenance group.

Duties to include:

• Perform manual labor to support the construction, repair, and maintenance of asphalt and concrete infrastructure.

• Frequently carries tools, equipment, and supplies to/from the job site by truck and by hand; assists with loading/unloading materials.

• Pour and finish concrete, and repair and/or install sidewalks, curbs, and gutters.

• Assist in surface treatment of streets, such as patching potholes to provide a safe riding surface.

• Serves as a flagger to direct traffic around construction on the roadways.

• Assist with various Public Works projects and seasonal tasks as assigned.

• Individual assignments will be determined by the supervisor based on the current workloads and department needs.

** Position is ALPHA 1 and is required to work during all inclement weather (flooding, hurricanes, snow, etc.). **

** A pre-employment physical is required

** Valid Drivers required
