Balicore Construction is seeking an experienced General Superintendent to oversee field operations across multiple construction projects while providing leadership, accountability, and operational excellence. This position plays a critical role in ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate is a proven construction leader with extensive experience managing superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, and field personnel while maintaining exceptional relationships with owners, clients, and project teams.

Position Summary

The General Superintendent is responsible for directing all field operations across multiple construction projects. This includes planning manpower, coordinating equipment and materials, mentoring field leadership, ensuring safety compliance, maintaining quality standards, and driving project schedules to successful completion.

This position serves as a key liaison between operations leadership, project management, and field personnel to ensure consistent execution of company standards.

Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, coach, and develop Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, Foremen, and field personnel.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular jobsite visits to ensure consistency across projects.
  • Provide performance coaching and recommend promotions, disciplinary actions, and workforce development opportunities.
  • Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and retention of field personnel.
Project Execution
  • Oversee multiple active construction projects simultaneously.
  • Ensure projects remain on schedule and proactively identify and resolve delays.
  • Coordinate manpower, equipment, subcontractors, and material resources.
  • Review construction schedules and monitor progress toward milestones.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to identify project risks and develop solutions.
  • Participate in project planning meetings and operational strategy sessions.
Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure all projects comply with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through coaching, inspections, and accountability.
  • Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure all required documentation and safety records are maintained.
Quality Control
  • Maintain company quality standards across all projects.
  • Conduct routine quality inspections.
  • Ensure work complies with project plans, specifications, permits, and contract requirements.
  • Address deficiencies promptly and implement corrective measures.
Operational Management
  • Manage labor productivity and workforce allocation.
  • Coordinate equipment utilization with Equipment Management.
  • Monitor project costs related to labor and field operations.
  • Assist with forecasting manpower needs.
  • Ensure proper documentation including daily reports, production tracking, and jobsite records.
Client Relations
  • Maintain positive relationships with owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Represent the company professionally during meetings and site visits.
  • Resolve field issues while maintaining excellent customer service.
Requirements Required
  • 10+ years of construction management experience.
  • 5+ years supervising multiple construction projects simultaneously.
  • Experience managing Superintendents and Foremen.
  • Strong knowledge of construction sequencing and scheduling.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contracts.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver's license.
Preferred
  • Heavy Civil, Commercial, Utility, Site Development, or Infrastructure experience.
  • OSHA 30 Certification.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • Experience with Procore, HCSS, or similar construction management software.
