Construction Manager/ Foreman, Site Manager, Regulatory Compliance Specialist
7-10+ years of construction experience with at least 2-4 years serving as a Superintendent. Experience supporting commercial vertical construction projects (office, multifamily, mixed-use, retail, etc.). Experience working for a commercial General Contractor (GC). Strong understanding of construction means and methods, scheduling, quality control, and site safety. Ability to oversee and manage third-party contractors and subcontractors on behalf of an owner/developer. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, contractors, architects, and internal leadership.
Comfortable performing frequent site visits and working in an active construction environment. Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the Hampton Roads region.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field. Experience serving in an Owner's Representative or development-focused construction role. Experience reviewing budgets, bids, schedules, change orders, and project documentation. Experience coordinating permitting, inspections, and regulatory approvals. Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Relationships and experience within the Hampton Roads commercial construction market.
Job Description
Insight Global's client is seeking a polished, client-facing Construction Superintendent / Owner's Representative to oversee commercial vertical construction projects throughout the Hampton Roads area. This individual will act as the owner's on-site representative, managing and coordinating the general contractor, monitoring project progress, ensuring quality and safety standards are met, and providing regular updates to internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate has experience working for a commercial general contractor and can effectively balance field operations, contractor oversight, and client communication.
Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary field representative for ownership throughout project execution. Manage and oversee the General Contractor to ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and meet quality expectations. Conduct routine site visits and progress inspections. Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders. Review schedules, project updates, and construction progress reports. Identify project risks and proactively resolve issues impacting schedule, budget, or quality.
Provide project status updates to leadership and key stakeholders. Ensure compliance with safety standards, local codes, and project requirements.
