AECOM is actively seeking a talented Project Architect for immediate employment in our Virginia Beach office. This position will work on a variety of interesting projects within the Federal sector, private, and public safety.
Primary job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Performing basic architectural/engineering calculations.
- Preparing specifications, reports and related data tables.
- Maintaining liaison with design and drafting groups.
- Preparing, reviewing, and approving drawings as required.
- Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, may independently perform advanced technical assignments of various complexities within approved schedules and budgets.
- May coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.
- May assist in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel.
- May review and approve conceptual designs.
- May assist in the development of new architectural methods and techniques.
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture plus six (6) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- An Architecture license is required for this position, (preferably in VA with NCARB).
- Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required.
- Experience in DoD and Federal Government related projects
, UFCs, and standards. - Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and ten (10) years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Photoshop, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in public safety-related projects such as police facilities, emergency operation centers, emergency communication centers, and training facilities.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suites, or other related graphic software.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced work environment.
- Diverse knowledge of architectural principles and practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
