About the Position
Join Our Team as a Locum Physician in General Medicine – VA

Elevate your medical career by providing vital healthcare services to Veterans through a rewarding locum position focused on General Medicine. This opportunity offers flexibility, competitive pay, and the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who have served our nation. As a key provider, you will conduct Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments, supporting Veterans’ wellbeing across various VA clinics.

Required Skills:

Medical degree (MD or DO) with active medical license in Virginia or ability to obtain one promptly

Proven experience in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine

Strong interview and physical assessment skills, including range of motion and muscle strength testing

Excellent communication and organizational abilities

Ability to perform exams independently and efficiently within allocated time frames

Nice to Have

Skills:

Prior experience with VA or military-related assessments

Familiarity with Compensation & Pension (C&P) examination protocols

Certification in medical assessments or related specialties

Ability to work independently at multiple clinic sites

Preferred

Education and Experience:

Medical degree from an accredited institution

Minimum of 2 years of clinical practice in primary or general medicine

Prior experience conducting C&P exams or equivalent assessments is advantageous

Other Requirements:

Own and maintain a private office space suitable for conducting exams (for providers in specified locations)

Willingness to work on a PRN basis with flexible scheduling (½ or full-day shifts)

Comfort performing interview-based exams with limited physical assessments

Compliance with all credentialing, onboarding, and medical standards

Local candidates preferred; travel will be included in pay rates, but no reimbursement for certifications or portal training provided before start date

This position offers an excellent hourly rate of $624.00, paid weekly via direct deposit, along with comprehensive benefits, paid sick leave, and a robust support team dedicated to your success.
