Substitute Teacher Position

Cape Henry Collegiate, a leading independent, coeducational, PK-12, day school in Virginia Beach invites candidates to apply for substitute teaching positions.

Hourly wage is $15.50 for all substitute teachers.

Include, but are not limited to:

• Teaching students across multiple disciplines, encouraging each child to reach his/her potential
• Supervision and safety of children at all times of the day including arrival, recess, lunchtime, and dismissal
• Assisting students with social/emotional learning support and guiding them to make good decisions with emphasis on treating all students with dignity and respect
• Assuming full responsibility for the class in teacher's absence
• Maintaining professional relationships with all members of the school community

Essential requirements include a Bachelor's Degree and the ability to support the School's mission and core values. Applicants must be flexible and have a positive, nurturing approach to working with students. Past experience working in schools is preferred.
