Saint John the Apostle Catholic School in Virginia Beach, VA is currently seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic elementary (Grade
5) teacher for in-person teaching and learning for the  school year. The successful candidate must be a role model who is passionate about sharing the Catholic faith, have educational preparation and experience in teaching at the elementary level to include planning lessons utilizing diocesan consensus curriculum, understanding of and experience with science of reading/balanced literacy approach to support early readers with emergent/early decoder reading skills.

The successful applicant must be capable of utilizing student centered instructional strategies, working collaboratively with colleagues, experienced with 21st century technology tools, and demonstrate a commitment to advance the mission of the school.

• Requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in an approved program for general elementary education (K-5) preferred.
• Must possess or be eligible for a teacher licensure in Virginia.
• 3yrs. of classroom teaching experience at the elementary level.
• Possess basic First Aid and CPR/AED certificate preferred or complete within 90 days of appointment.
