S UMMARY /P URPOSE :
The candidate must plan and implement innovative instructional practices that further the philosophy and goals of our school. The Teacher will also plan for both long and short-term instructional goals and will instruct and monitor student understanding and progress. Instruct through engaged, hands‑on teaching and learning, utilize 21st Century teaching skills, possess good communication skills, and be able to work collaboratively with an instructional team.

Teach Catholic identity, including faith formation and Catholic tradition. Utilize test data to improve quality of instruction, as well as maintain accurate and current individual records of student growth and share this information regularly with parents, students and the principal. Must be an organized individual, a strong communicator with their peers and nurture a Christ‑centered environment.

S UPERVISOR :
Principal and Assistant Principal

W ORKING R ELATIONSHIPS :
This position interacts with all school positions, families, and students

Collaborate with Principal/Assistant Principal in formulating and carrying out the mission and goal of the school

Prepare daily/weekly lesson plans following the scope and sequence in accordance with Diocesan Consensus curriculum guidelines

Collaborate and plan with the Principal/Assistant Principal teacher Religion expectations, requirements, and retreats

Assess and evaluate students’ progress in written, oral, and enter into computer system, share progress with parents and principal/assistant principal

Use technology to assist in lesson preparation, instruction, and reporting

Create and maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning

Develop and maintain good working habits and discipline in the classroom

Supervise students during classes and at other times in the school day, including recess

Plan and attend parent teacher conferences to discuss students’ progress and concerns with parents and administrators

Carry out administrative duties or additional duties as assigned by the administration

Attend staff meetings and other training and development sessions, keep abreast

of current educational issues and trends through seminars, workshops, etc.

Assist and organize activities such as field trips, school events, other class activities

Attend school events to build relationships with school families

W ORKING C ONDITIONS :
This is a 10 month position; 7:15am - 3:15pm with extended times as needed; institutional holidays off

P ERFORMANCE A PPRAISAL :
Annual appraisal will be done by the Principal/Assistant Principal in accordance with diocesan guidelines and this job description.
