MANTECH seeks a highly motivated, career and customer-oriented Engineering Technician to join our team in Virginia Beach, VA. This is an on-site position. This role provides In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) support through coordination with Standard Boat Team customers, as well as around-the-world field engineering/technical support and industrial oversight for US Navy small boats. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Lead industrial and quality assurance management across engineering disciplines for small craft
* Ability to analyze and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical boat issues and provide resolution direction.
* Support all phases of standard boat lifecycle, from sustainment to modernization
* Serve as ISEA technical POC, coordinating repairs and craft issues across global sites
* Analyze trends, prioritize engineering efforts, and lead root cause and corrective actions
* Oversee technical compliance, drawing reviews, and BOATALT package delivery
* Perform inspections, develop cost estimates, manage contractor efforts, and validate repairs
* Apply hands-on expertise in electrical/mechanical systems, blueprint reading, and system installations
* Travel to CONUS/OCONUS as needed up to 2-10%
* Must be able to obtain a US Passport
Minimum Qualifications:
* High School Diploma with 4+ years of experience inspecting and troubleshooting mechanical, electronic, and electrical systems
* Small Boat operational and maintenance experience and knowledge required
* Experience in metal and fiberglass structural fabrication, welding, inspection, and quality assurance processes
* 1+ years of experience as a Project Lead at the mechanical or technician level
Preferred Qualifications:
* Active DoD Secret security clearance
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* AutoCAD or other CAD software experience
* Experience reading drawings and blueprints
* US Coast Guard OUPV or 25-100 Tons Master license
* Valid US passport Security Clearance:
* Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a Secret Security clearance
Physical Requirements:
* Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
* Must be able to transport and lift up to 30 pounds
* Must be able to access boats both on trailers and in the water, as well as access remote areas of multi-level vessels
* Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations
