Fire Sprinkler Designer

We are seeking a motivated Fire Sprinkler Designer to join our team. This role offers training and development opportunities for individuals interested in launching a career in fire protection design. Under the supervision of senior designers, you will assist in drafting, design layout, hydraulic calculations, and project coordination for fire sprinkler systems in commercial, industrial, and residential buildings.
Hourly range: $35‑$45, based on experience.

Drafting and Design Assistance:
- Prepare initial sprinkler layouts using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software based on markups and instructions from senior staff.
- Assist with sizing pipe and locating sprinkler heads in accordance with NFPA codes.
Hydraulic Calculations:
- Learn to use design tools/software for basic hydraulic calculations and system analysis.
Code Compliance:
- Support research of NFPA 13, local codes, and project specifications.
- Prepare documents for plan review and permitting.
Project Coordination:
- Communicate with internal team members such as project managers and installers.
- Help resolve basic design or field issues with guidance from senior designers.
Documentation:
- Assist in preparing bill of materials, cut sheets, and supporting documents for design packages.
- Help maintain records and as‑built documentation.
Professional Development:
- Participate in on‑the‑job training, take courses related to fire protection, and pursue NICET certification.
- Basic understanding of AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks or other design software is a must.
- 3‑10 years of fire sprinkler or fire alarm design experience is a must.
- NICET Level III preferred.
- Must be able to obtain access to military installations.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Good math and spatial reasoning skills.
- Ability to read architectural and engineering plans (preferred, but training provided).
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Office‑based role with possible field/site visits for training.
- May require wearing PPE at construction sites.
- Typical work hours, with overtime as needed for deadlines.
This role provides a foundation for rapid advancement to Fire Sprinkler Designer, Senior Designer, Project Manager, or Fire Protection Engineer with ongoing experience and certifications (such as NICET).
