Join a growing engineering team delivering complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects across Virginia. This is a senior leadership position with a strong focus on project delivery, client engagement, and business development within the municipal market.
The role You will act as a key point of contact for municipal clients across Virginia, leading project delivery from early planning through to construction while supporting growth initiatives in an expanding regional market.
Responsibilities- Lead water and wastewater projects including planning, design, permitting, and construction services
- Manage multidisciplinary project teams and mentor junior engineers and project staff
- Coordinate with technical specialists and delivery teams to ensure high‑quality outcomes
- Oversee preparation of design documents, drawings, and technical specifications
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and risk
- Deliver planning studies, programme analysis, and technical reports
- Build and maintain client relationships with municipalities and public sector stakeholders
- Support business development efforts including proposals, strategic planning, and market growth initiatives
- Collaborate with commercial teams on RFP responses and opportunity pursuits
- Stay active in the industry through professional organisations, conferences, and technical development
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
- 10+ years of relevant experience in water/wastewater infrastructure
- Strong project management experience delivering design and construction projects
- PMP, CCM, or DBIA certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
- Proven experience managing budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to engage directly with clients and senior stakeholders
- Degree in civil, environmental, or chemical engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) licence
- Experience delivering projects within Virginia or similar regulatory environments
- Familiarity with alternative delivery methods such as design-build or CMAR
- Hybrid working arrangements are available
- Travel may be required depending on project needs
