Electronic Technician

Overview

VTG is seeking an Electronic Technician to support multiple projects.

• Perform layout and mechanical assembly procedures for submarine and shipboard CSRR and CANES‑related racks; report any issues to the lead engineering technician.
• Install copper and fiber‑optic cabling across various submarine and shipboard platforms, following cableway routing and isometric drawings.
• Conduct testing on installed system components, including continuity, megger, fiber‑optic light and loss, voltage checks, wet/dry torque values, and tempest inspections.
• Analyze and interpret test data to assess system performance and identify potential issues.
• Complete technical reports and objective quality evidence documentation, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
• Verify functionality of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance before System Operational Verification Testing.

• BS in electronics plus three years of related work experience, AS plus four years of related experience, or HS or equivalent plus six years of work‑related experience and/or training. Full understanding and familiarity with electricity and electronics required.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts: fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
• Working knowledge of MS Office applications.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to travel as required.
