As a Water Resources Designer / EIT in our Transportation Business Group, you will collaborate with engineers, planners, and environmental specialists to create sustainable water infrastructure that supports public safety and economic vitality.
Responsibilities- Work under project engineers on the application of various design engineering and modeling techniques in the development of water resource projects for federal, state, and local municipalities
- Focus on hydraulics and hydrology modeling, stormwater collection systems modeling, data collection, assimilation, and presentations
- Work on projects including flood control, river design, stream grade control structures, dike systems, levees, stream channel restoration/rehabilitation, wetland and lake restoration, watershed issues, and non‑point source loading as well as point source design
- Produce design calculations, draft technical reports, and perform water resources studies
- Perform other duties as needed
- Local candidate with Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
- Candidate without EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, standard CAD platforms such as AutoCAD, and hydraulic modeling software
- Self‑motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of tasks
- Commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned culture is a must
Location:
United States – District of Columbia, Washington DC (primary location) with additional options in Virginia and Maryland.
Compensation:
Washington, DC: $83,742 - $113,298;
Fulton, MD: $76,764 - $103,857.
