We are currently searching for a Traffic Engineer to support our growing Traffic Engineering Department in the Mid-Atlantic region located in Springfield, VA, Virginia Beach, VA or Columbia, MD
.

• The candidate will be a key component of our traffic engineering team supporting delivery of traffic engineering projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary team members, and serving a key role in roadway improvements, intersection modifications, and multimodal safety projects.
• The successful candidate will work on challenging transportation planning and design projects in the Mid‑Atlantic region, providing technical expertise and ensuring compliance with locality and state DOT standards.
• Prepare design plans for various tasks involving intersection safety, multimodal improvements, and large infrastructure projects.
• Prepare traffic signal design plans for new intersections and signal modifications to facilitate multimodal accommodations.
• Prepare traffic management plans (TMP), temporary traffic control plans, permanent signing and pavement marking plans, and ITS design plans.
• Assist in preparing conceptual intersection layouts, schematics, signal timings, corridor studies and analysis, road safety audits, and engineering reports.
• Prepare quantities and develop PS&E packages supporting design projects.
• Collaborate with engineers, transportation planners, and landscape architects.
• Attend project meetings with clients.
• Support Project Managers in project management activities such as developing scope and fee proposals, presentations, and reports.

• BS in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–7 years of traffic engineering experience.
• EIT is required; PE is preferred.
• Must be proficient in Micro Station or AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of traffic analysis software packages.
• Familiarity with VDOT and/or DDOT, SHA standards, MUTCD, and AASHTO.
• Self‑starter and capable of completing tasks with minimal oversight.
• Attention to detail and a quality‑driven approach.
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Valid motor vehicle record (MVR).
