About the Role
Arcadis is seeking a Senior Water/Wastewater Project Manager with 10 or more years of experience to lead and direct water and wastewater opportunities across the Hampton Roads and Mid‑Atlantic region. This position will engage with our established, well‑respected team to execute our healthy project backlog and lead our strategy for growth across the Hampton Roads area. This role will be based out of our Virginia Beach office.
Responsibilities- Leading and directing the development of water and wastewater projects as a client‑facing project manager.
- Managing the planning, design, and construction administration of projects to ensure compliance with contracts, drawings, specifications, codes, statutes, rules, and regulations, as well as Arcadis quality and safety practices.
- Communicating with clients to establish goals and objectives for project teams, and scheduling and coordinating resources to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the performance expectations of the client.
- Providing technical expertise on multi‑disciplined projects as a design leader, QA/QC reviewer, or technical advisor.
- Supervising and supporting the work of others while mentoring junior level engineers and technical staff.
- Working directly with clients to determine needs and deliver solutions and lead the growth of client relationships with target clients.
- Leading/supporting teams in the marketing and proposal phases of projects including preparation of winning proposals and successful presentations, as well as developing scopes of work and budgets for various water and wastewater projects.
Required Qualifications
- 10 years of experience
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering
- P.E. License and ability to acquire PE licensure in Virginia within 6 months
- Project management experience overseeing municipal water or wastewater projects of varying sizes
- Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering
- More than 15 years of relevant industry experience
- Active involvement in regional or national professional associations, industry organizations, and conferences
- Excellent technical engineering capabilities
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Team leadership experience, including capacity to manage overall project delivery expectations, prioritize tasks effectively, and provide mentorship
- Exceptional technical writing skills
- Established relationships or experience working with local municipalities

The salary range for this position is $110,000 – $180,000 per year, with final compensation based on experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
