- Compensation: $97,000- $104,000 per year. Actual compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
You perform specialized engineering assignments to improve existing manufacturing processes and develop new, more efficient ones. You resolve complex engineering challenges related to the production of parts and products. You plan, install, and maintain new capital equipment and processes, applying advanced engineering principles and methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
Job Duties & Responsibilities- Manages multiple engineering projects simultaneously with limited supervision within defined timelines.
- Manages entire life cycle of assigned capital projects including:developing project specifications, working with suppliers and purchasing to gather quotes/estimates, determining budget requirements, completing and submitting decision templates for management approval, kicking off project, completing design review, managing build, running-off new equipment, and validating new equipment once delivered to STIHL Inc.
- Researchesanddesignsnew methodologies and techniques to improve quality of product, error proofing, speed of production and cost-effectiveness of production methods. Recommends and implements methods,techniquesand technologies to reduce downtime and improve quality.
- Creates engineering designs and builds. Modifies equipment based ondesigns.
- Plans, schedules and conducts testing and critical evaluation of all products for engineering changes and new parts/products. Makes and implements recommended changes based on evaluations and findings.
- Analyzes andplansworkforceutilization, space requirements, and workflow. Designslayoutofequipmentandworkspaceformaximumefficiency.
- Ensures procedures and plans are maintained; monitors and evaluates performance; initiates recommendations and corrective action where needed.
- Trains employeesinproper work methods for safe and efficient performance of job duties.
- Confers withvendorstodetermineproduct specifications andarrangeforpurchaseof equipment, materials, or parts. Evaluatesproductsaccordingtospecificationsandqualitystandards.
- Confers with management, engineering, and other departmentsregardingmanufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations tofacilitateproduction processes.
- All other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering
- Working knowledge of CAD software (Solidworks and AutoCAD preferred)
- Presentaton skills and experience using Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI, etc
- Hands on processing experience in particular field of engineering
