Clark Nexsen, a JMT Company, is seeking an Electrical Engineer EIT who will assist in the design, engineering, analysis, equipment selection, and system layout of electrical systems for multi-discipline building design projects for commercial, higher education, and government facilities of moderate to large scope.
Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g., H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.
Compensation for this position is $81,120.00 - $85,280.00, commensurate with experience, education, and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. The company recognizes that the applicant pool varies and the actual salary range may differ.
General Responsibilities- Work with, respond to, and take direction from Senior Engineers, Project Managers, Managing Principals, Department Directors, and senior management.
- Perform various aspects of Electrical Engineering design, including Conceptual Studies, Program Requirements, Design Analysis, Calculations, Equipment selection and layout, and System selection and layout for building design, upgrades, and retrofits.
- Work in a multi-discipline design team supervised by senior engineers and project managers on projects of medium to large scope; coordinate and communicate with other engineers and design team members.
- Meet with clients as directed.
- Comply with the firm s quality control policies and procedures.
- Learn and implement department and company standards.
- Prepare project programming, schematic designs, design development designs, and construction documents.
- Provide electrical support services during the bidding process, such as preparing addenda, amendments, and responding to RFI s.
- Provide electrical construction phase services including representing the firm on-site, answering RFI s, reviewing shop drawings, and preparing record drawings.
- Must have graduated from an ABET-accredited 4- or 5-year engineering program in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering (Electrical Engineering focus), Electrical Engineering Technology, or Architectural Engineering Technology (Electrical Engineering focus).
- Must have earned the designation of EI or EIT in at least one US state, preferably in the local jurisdiction.
- Pursuing Professional Engineer licensure (PE) within 12 months of eligibility.
- Understanding of sustainable design principles and design practices included in LEED and Well Building standards is encouraged.
- Additional certifications such as RCDD, LC, IALD are encouraged to reflect growth in the profession and to enhance the design and documentation process.
- Active membership in IEEE, IES or other related professional organizations is desirable.
At JMT, we prioritize a healthy work/life balance and offer a flexible hybrid working schedule. The selected candidate is expected to work in a JMT office location at least three days per week or as needed to perform assigned duties. While most work is desk-based, there may be times when standing, walking, bending, and lifting of minimal weight are required. The office environment is comfortable, has adequate lighting and temperature, and is free from noise, dust, and other hazards.
