AECOM is seeking a motivated and experienced Water/Wastewater Project Manager to join our expanding water engineering practice. The selected candidate will become part of an established water engineering practice working on prominent wet weather remediation programs, sewer collection, potable water distribution and storage, and pumping station projects in the Hampton Roads region as well as central, and northern Virginia.

• Manage, plan and lead engineering design projects for sanitary sewer collection systems, pumping stations, lift stations, force mains, interceptors, water distribution systems, green infrastructure, reservoirs, and water/wastewater treatment plants.
• Manage a portfolio of clients with multiple projects.
• Supervise mid to junior level engineers (all disciplines applicable) and project administration, project controls, scheduling, cost control, estimating and procurement representatives.
• Coordinate and complete projects on time, within budget, and within scope.
• Ensure all projects are delivered on‑time, within scope and within budget.
• Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress.
• Manage changes to the project scope, schedule and costs using appropriate verification techniques.
• Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.
• Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
• Consistently deliver profit margins planned.
• Provide specialized technical input to studies and design for staff’s specific area of expertise.
• Develop study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.
• Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
• Develop construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
• Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
• Prepare technical specification sections.

BS Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related degree and 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educated.

Proven experience with managing engineering design projects for sanitary sewer collection systems, pumping stations, lift stations, force mains, interceptors, water distribution systems.

Professional Engineers License.

Solid knowledge of MS Office Suite, Sharepoint, Unifier, e-Builder, CM14, and P6 Scheduling Software.

Demonstrated experience in business development.

Professional Engineering License in the state of Virginia.

12+ years of related experience.

Experience with the Hampton Roads Area Municipal Water/Wastewater clients.

Working knowledge of Federal, State, and local jurisdiction permitting regulations for water/wastewater.

Proven track record of delivering technically complex construction projects from inception to completion.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
