Senior Structural Engineer Specializing in Marine and Waterfront Design

Stantec is seeking a highly qualified senior structural engineer specializing in marine and waterfront design to support our transportation practice in New England. The selected candidate must be able to manage and technically lead teams in the design and construction administration of complex waterfront projects for public and private sector clients throughout the region.

Your key responsibilities include performing structural marine and waterfront engineering assignments, overseeing engineering planning and design assignments, providing technical guidance and mentoring, analyzing complex problems, leading the preparation and coordination of project deliverables, ensuring safe work practices, and coordinating with clients and agencies.

Your capabilities and credentials should include proven ability in staff supervision and leadership, strong collaboration and teamwork skills, strong communication and presentation skills, ability to travel frequently within the New England area, licensed professional engineer in one New England state with ability to obtain licensure in other states within 6 months of employment as needed, experience with engineering design tools, and prior experience with US Federal agency engineering and construction projects.

Education and experience requirements include a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university, advanced degree preferred, and minimum of ten years of relevant structural marine and waterfront structures experience.

This position will primarily be in an office setting; may require some field work, some of which may be performed from a boat. The ability to work some from home will be extended to the candidate once in-office working relationships are established.
