Position: LN Venues, Production Manager - The Dome Virginia Beach

Job Summary

The Production Manager is responsible for all on-stage, backstage, and technical aspects of concerts and events, ensuring smooth operations and cost-effective production.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure a positive and creative environment for the management team.
  • Assist in maintaining department manuals and training materials for all production positions.
  • Develop and maintain production manuals and training materials.
  • Support production department personnel with job functions as needed.
  • Assist in creating budgetary requirements and track financial aspects of the department.
  • Create and maintain a daily band cost spreadsheet.
  • Ensure all procedures are cost effective.
  • Create daily and weekly show schedules.
  • Assist in scheduling the appropriate number of staff while keeping labor costs within budget.
  • Maintain regular communication with venue and corporate management.
  • Facilitate interdepartmental communication and organization.
  • Assist in managing stage, sound, and lighting crews.
  • Coordinate operational feedback with the Talent Buyer.
  • Advance technical details for shows and events.
  • Assist with maintenance of audio, lighting, backline, and video systems, advising on repairs when needed.
  • Advance food and beverage/hospitality requirements.
  • Distribute information to Operations Managers in a timely manner.
  • Ensure safe and consistent operation of all equipment.
  • Advise on design and purchase of stage and site audio/lighting systems.
  • Maintain "past show" files.
  • Maintain accurate vendor records and follow Purchase Ordering Systems.
  • Document and deliver disciplinary actions to production crew.
Required Qualifications
  • Flexible schedule (days, nights, late hours, weekends, and holidays).
  • Experience with stage lighting, professional audio systems, and basic video systems.
  • Strong people skills with emphasis on competent and diplomatic communication with tour and production managers.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to make clear, concise decisions, sometimes with limited information.
  • Computer literacy in Windows applications.
  • Superior interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
  • High school diploma.
  • Tolerance of all cultures, music, and art forms.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years prior production management experience in an entertainment venue, tour management, or stage management.
  • Some college or college degree in a related field.
  • Behavioral-based interviewing skills.
  • Cash handling experience.
  • Experience in a live music environment.
  • Experience working with collective bargaining agreements and union stagehands.
Physical Demands / Working Environment
  • Fast-paced, loud, and stressful environment.
  • Extended periods of prolonged standing, lifting, bending, reaching, and working on feet.
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 75 pounds using proper lifting techniques.
  • Tolerance of loud noise level.
  • Able to wear a radio earpiece during the scheduled shift.
