CI Azumano is seeking a Controller in Virginia Beach, VA. The Controller is responsible for overseeing general accounting and financial reporting functions and the financial services area, including accounts receivable and accounts payable.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversees all general accounting functions, including cash management/reconciliation, financial reporting, and balance sheet management.
  • Ensures that financial policies and procedures (internal controls) are documented and in place to provide reasonable assurance that company assets are protected.
  • Ensures company financial records are maintained in compliance with applicable regulations, company policies and professional accounting practices.
  • Maintains record of fixed assets and coordinates quarterly asset inventories with each department, including IT assets.
  • Prepares baseline content for the corporate annual budget process and provides report and documentation to the CFO.
  • Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting and reporting financial data.
  • Manages accounts receivable collections with a focus on effective resolution and excellent customer service.
  • Coordinates periodic internal and external audits and implements recommendations from audit findings.
  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
  • Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
  • Ensures the finance department is staffed with qualified personnel to meet objectives.
  • Maintains financial staff performance through coaching and performance management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • CPA certification.
  • Ten years of accounting experience.
  • Ten years of management experience.
  • Experience in analyzing business performance and developing financial plans.
  • Strong knowledge of internal controls and financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to form, lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
