What it Looks Like Financial Oversight
  • Budget Preparation and Management:
    Develop, monitor, and control organizational budgets.
  • Financial Reporting:
    Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Audit Coordination:
    Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure compliance with auditing standards.
  • Policy Development:
    Establish and enforce financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Accounting and Records Management
  • General Ledger Management:
    Oversee accounting processes, including maintaining the general ledger and chart of accounts.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable:
    Supervise processes related to billing, collections, and vendor payments.
  • Payroll Oversight:
    Manage payroll systems and ensure compliance with labor laws and tax regulations.
  • Tax Compliance:
    Ensure the organization adheres to tax laws and filing requirements.
  • Strategic Financial Planning
  • Financial Analysis:
    Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and risks.
  • Investment Oversight:
    Manage organizational investments and assess opportunities for growth or savings.
  • Risk Management:

    Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Cost Control:
    Develop and implement cost‑saving measures without compromising operational efficiency.
  • Leadership and Communication
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    Present financial data and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and board members.
  • Interdepartmental

    Collaboration:

    Work with other departments to align financial goals with operational objectives.
  • Compliance and Governance
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    Ensure adherence to laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Ethical Standards:
    Promote ethical financial practices across the organization.
  • Special Projects and Initiatives
  • System Improvements:
    Lead initiatives to enhance financial systems and technologies.
  • Mergers and Acquisitions:
    Provide financial analysis and support for mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures.
  • Qualifications
    • 5+ years of accounting experience.
    • Minimum bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (Legal accounting a plus).
    • CPA Preferred but not required.
    • Good working knowledge of Quick Books and accounting software.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel).
    • Motivated Self‑Starter.
    Benefits
    • Salary:
      Base salary of $75,000 to $85,000, commensurate with knowledge and experience.
    • Fully paid dental, vision, and health insurance, including a firm‑paid HRA account with $3,000 annually.
    • Fully paid short‑term and long‑term disability insurance as well as fully paid term‑life insurance.
    • 401K plan with 3% firm‑contributed safe harbor available upon your start date.
    • Paid time off at rate of 12 hours a month for the first through third year of employment, increasing thereafter.
    • Unlimited unpaid time off with approval of firm leadership.
