Join Our Evidence-Based Postgraduate Fellowship

Inner Peace Counseling is launching an interprofessional Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) Postgraduate Fellowship for early-career clinicians in Social Work, Professional Counseling, and Marriage & Family Therapy who want strong clinical training, high-quality supervision, and real-world outpatient experience—without being thrown into private practice alone.

This fellowship is designed for clinicians who want to build confidence, competence, and licensure hours in a supportive group practice while working with diverse outpatient populations.

Who This Fellowship Is For

This position is ideal for post-master’s clinicians who:

  • Want structured training and support
  • Are pursuing Virginia licensure (LCSW, LPC, or LMFT)
  • Value evidence-based, ethical, and relationally grounded care
  • Want to grow into confident outpatient clinicians
Clinical Focus Areas

Fellows gain experience across three core outpatient areas, with one primary emphasis:

  • Serious Mental Illness (SMI):mood disorders, thought disorders, higher-acuity outpatient care
  • Trauma & Sexual Trauma:trauma-informed, consent-based, evidence-based treatment
  • Child & Family Therapy:children, adolescents, caregivers, and family systems

Caseloads are intentionally structured to support both depth and breadth of clinical experience.

  • Weekly protected didactic training day (Tuesdays, 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM)
  • Ongoing individual, dyadic, and/or group supervision
  • Supervision aligned with Virginia board requirements for licensure
  • Emphasis on:
  • Ethical decision-making
  • Professional identity development
  • Evidence-based intervention delivery

This is a developmental training program, not a productivity-first role.

Fellows select four 6-hour clinical shifts per week plus the required training day:

Clinical Shift Options

  • Day:Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM
  • Evening:Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM – 8:30 PM
  • Each shift schedules up to 5 clients
  • Didactic training day counts as the 5th shift
  • A 6th optional shift may be added if additional hours are needed for licensure
  • Evening/weekend availability impacts compensation
  • Shift availability depends on clinic capacity
  • While preferences are considered, avoiding evenings or weekends cannot be guaranteed

This is a W-2 paid fellowship with transparent compensation.

Administrative Pay
  • $15/hour for trainings, supervision, meetings, and program responsibilities
Clinical Compensation
  • $15/hour per completed session initially
  • Plus 33% of collected revenue for weekday sessions
  • Plus 35% of collected revenue for evening/weekend sessions

Approximately 60% of collected revenue is allocated on the Fellow’s behalf, including:

  • 15% toward payroll taxes & benefits
  • 10% toward supervision, training, and education
  • 33–35% paid directly to the Fellow
Estimated Annual Clinical Earnings (Illustrative)
  • ~$27,000 at lower insurance reimbursement (weekday-only)
  • ~$58,800 at higher insurance reimbursement (evening/weekend-heavy)
  • Actual earnings vary based on payer mix, attendance, and scheduling
  • Paid time off once full-time billable status is achieved
  • As the practice grows, we anticipate adding additional benefits for full-time clinicians, including health benefit support through a QSEHRA and optional retirement savings access
Licensure & Onboarding Timeline
  • Applications due:End of March
  • Interviews:April (virtual)
  • Offers extended:May
  • Start date:Typically July, pending licensure approval and insurance credentialing
  • State board approval (Supervisee/Resident status)
  • Insurance credentialing timelines
