We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Food Service Director committed to ensuring compliance with health and safety standards while delivering nutritious, high-quality meals to our residents. The Director oversees all aspects of food service operations within our care center, managing large‑scale activities that align with our organization’s values.

• Manage large‑scale food service operations, including menu planning, cost control, sanitation, and food safety protocols.
• Lead, train, supervise, and evaluate staff; develop staff performance plans.
• Maintain regulatory compliance with state and federal food safety laws, such as FDA codes, and internal policies specific to Virginia facilities.
• Oversee inventory, ordering, and budget forecasting to ensure efficient resource management.
• Operate and maintain institutional kitchen equipment; schedule preventive maintenance.
• Prepare and oversee nutritious menus, including therapeutic and specialized diet programs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Certified Dietary Manager.
• 3–5 years of clinical nutrition or food service experience.
• Experience with MDS and Care Plans preferred.
• Experience in long‑term care service management preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal guidelines and requirements.
• Proficient with computer software and ability to learn new systems.

Additional Considerations

• Prior experience with therapeutic or medically necessary menus in healthcare or long‑term care settings.
• Experience with altered diets, including preparing, testing, and training staff to IDDSI standards.
• Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
