Job SummaryThe Lead Application Deployment Engineer is responsible for leading end‑user application, patching, and operating system support across a broad range of devices and platforms, ensuring secure, efficient, and reliable deployment of software solutions for NEXCOM PCs and mobile devices.
Responsibilities- Lead end‑user application, patching, and operating system support for PCs (desktop, laptop, Mac Book, iMac, VMware) and mobile devices (Blackberry, iPhone, tablet).
- Prioritize assignments, coordinate workload, mentor and communicate with the support team.
- Lead installation and configuration of operating system and application software, working closely with Client Services staff and management.
- Utilize automated deployment and management tools such as Mobile Device Management systems, Microsoft Software Center, Microsoft Intune, Advanced Installer, App V packaging, and MSI installers.
- Review and apply periodic critical security notifications, performing scheduled patches and service pack management using scripts and tools.
- Develop and maintain shell scripts (e.g., Power Shell) for Windows, Android, and Apple platforms.
- Analyze new and existing applications for NEXCOM PCs and perform ongoing optimization, upgrades, and patches.
- Package, deploy, troubleshoot, and document new applications from design through post‑installation stages.
- Provide technical and user support for application troubleshooting.
- Document application installations that require additional configuration.
- Ensure rigorous application of Information Security/Information Assurance policies and practices.
- Participate in project planning, providing leadership to ensure timely and successful completion of assigned projects.
Minimum three years of administrative, technical, or investigative work demonstrating the ability to perform technical and analytical work involving management information systems.
Substitution of Education for ExperienceOne year of related academic study above high school level may be substituted for nine months of experience, up to a maximum of a four‑year bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, or computer science.
Specialized Experience- Four years of experience in application installation, upgrade, troubleshooting, and deployment.
- Experience with system user account administration.
- O/S Administration on Microsoft Windows.
- Automated application deployment (push and pull).
- Coordination and planning across multiple systems.
- Mobile Device Management for Android and iOS.
- LAN system administration and support for Microsoft Windows.
- Application patch administration.
- Application testing for operating system compatibility.
Position requires a favorable Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI). Eligible candidates must obtain a Secret clearance within six months of appointment; failure to obtain the clearance results in termination.
Certification Requirements- Information Assurance certifications:
Security+, GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC), Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP), Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), or higher‑level certifications such as CISA, CISSP, GIAC Security Expert (GSE), or Security Certified Network Architect (SCNA). NEXCOM prefers Security+. - Technical certification:
Windows 10 certification (or equivalent replacement exam such as MD‑100) required. Valid, non‑expired certification is mandatory. - Background:
Must possess and maintain two types of current certifications; if not, must obtain them within six months of appointment. - Failure to obtain required certifications results in termination.
Qualified candidates must be U.S. citizens.
