Position: Field Service Representative (FSR)

Job Description

We are looking for a hands‑on, technically skilled Field Service Representative (FSR) to support deployment, integration, training, and sustainment of advanced commercial communications and emerging technologies in mission‑critical environments. This hybrid role functions as a Technical Advisor, Trainer, Expediter, and on‑site resource for customers.

What You’ll Do
  • Travel frequently between Tysons and Virginia Beach locations; heavy travel expected in the first 6 months.
  • Serve as the primary on‑site technical resource, issuing equipment, supporting users, and responding to operational needs with little notice.
  • Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot communication systems, laptops, mobile kits, and supporting technologies in field environments.
  • Train end users on system setup, configuration, and operational use, delivering ad‑hoc and structured training sessions.
  • Support and deliver training events ranging from small group instruction to full course delivery when required.
  • Act as a technical expediter—managing logistics, issuing equipment, tracking inventory, and ensuring system readiness.
  • Maintain accountability of equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and support lifecycle management of deployed systems.
  • Assist with system acceptance testing and validate performance against operational requirements.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues using specialized tools, escalating complex problems when necessary.
  • Interface directly with customers to support mission readiness and provide technical guidance aligned to operational needs.
What You’ll Accomplish in the First 6 Months
  • Rapidly gain proficiency in Veilant‑supported technologies and environments through a structured internal training pipeline.
  • Establish yourself as a trusted, go‑to resource for the customer, capable of responding to operational needs with minimal supervision. Must Haves
    • Active Top‑Secret clearance required at a minimum.
    • Prior experience supporting tactical communications, special communications, cyber, EW, SIGINT, or similar mission systems.
    • Experience operating in or supporting SOF Tier One or closely aligned mission environments strongly preferred.
    • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a service, technical support, or operational support role.
    • Technical training equivalent to military technical school, trade school, or hands‑on operational experience.
    • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn and apply new systems with minimal ramp time.
    • Ability to train and communicate technical concepts clearly to end users in operational settings.
    • Adaptable, mission‑first mindset with the ability to operate in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments.
    • Learning agility, cognitive resilience, and high emotional intelligence with a proven growth mindset.
    Nice to Haves
    • Background as a military Cyber Warfare Technician (CWT), TIO for NSW, Cyber or Signal, Communications specialist (17, 25 series, 31D, 35Q, or equivalent) with hands‑on field experience supporting tactical operations.
    • Experience as a technical instructor or delivering formal training courses.
    • Background in SOF support, or similar high‑tempo operational environments.
    • Experience as a System Administrator or supporting mobile device platforms in the field.
    • Familiarity with configuring and managing commercial off‑the‑shelf communication tools.
    What Sets This Role Apart

This role blends field support, training, and mission execution into one position. You are not just fixing systems; you are enabling operations and becoming a long‑term trusted advisor for day‑to‑day operations and future training and deployment efforts.

    Physical Requirements
    • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time and occasionally move within the office.
    • Constantly work with computers and other information technology equipment.
    Equal Opportunity Statement

We are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender, gender identity or expression, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
