The Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE) Network Administrator is responsible for administration, maintenance, and cybersecurity defense of all Navy Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN) client and server infrastructure used to support enterprise-wide modeling and simulation applications and services for the NITE.
The candidate will work in close coordination with other team members and departments to update, monitor and maintain servers and workstations used throughout the enterprise. Additional duties include performing Microsoft Windows server administration, managing GPOs, creating/modifying DHCP reservations, patching and configuring systems in compliance with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG). The individual must be able to work independently and within a team.
Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system-wide software, and allocating mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products, makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation, and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
Minimum Qualifications6 years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s in related field; 4 years relevant experience with a Master’s in related field; or a High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.
- Experience with VMware
- Familiarity with VDI technologies and protocols
- Strong technical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and digest technical information
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong customer focus, the ability to manage customer needs and multiple work priorities
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
- Security+ or equivalent certification
- Must currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain a US Secret security clearance
- Experience with Microsoft WSUS or SCCM
- Experience with Windows Servers 2019/2022
- Experience digesting and implementing DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)
- Experience with patching Microsoft servers and workstations
- Strong customer focus, the ability to manage customer needs and multiple work priorities
Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of the Systems Analyst discipline.
