Job Description
The Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE) Network Administrator / Ship Rider is responsible for administration, maintenance, defense, and operational support of Navy Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN) client and server infrastructure used to support enterprise-wide modeling and simulation applications and services for the NITE.
The candidate will provide both shore-based and shipboard network administration support in support of Navy training operations and mission requirements. As a Ship Rider, the individual will be required to embark on naval vessels and support underway operations, working extended schedules of 12+ hour days for periods ranging from several weeks to a month or longer at a time. The candidate must be prepared to operate in dynamic shipboard environments, maintain mission readiness, and provide continuous technical support with limited resources while deployed.
During departures will need to be able to troubleshoot phone connectivity issues and access network switches via console connections to assist with configuration and diagnostics.

Job Responsibilities
* Provide both shore-based and shipboard network administration support in support of Navy training operations and mission requirements.
* Embark on naval vessels and support underway operations, working extended schedules of 12+ hour days for periods ranging from several weeks to a month or longer at a time.
* Operate in dynamic shipboard environments, maintain mission readiness, and provide continuous technical support with limited resources while deployed.
* Troubleshoot phone connectivity issues and access network switches via console connections to assist with configuration and diagnostics.
* Work in close coordination with other team members, Navy personnel, and support departments to update, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot servers, workstations, and network systems throughout the enterprise and onboard assigned platforms.
* Additional duties include performing virtual construction administration, creating/modifying DHCP reservations, patching and STIG implementation, system hardening, troubleshooting technical issues, authoring standard operating procedures, and performing Tier 2 technical support.
* The successful candidate must be able to work independently, prioritize multiple mission requirements, and function effectively as part of a technical team in both shore and shipboard environments. The individual must demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to maintain high-quality technical support during extended deployments and operational periods.
