Location:

• Clean cafeteria after each lunch bell, realign chairs, mop floor.
• Pick up paper and trash in bathrooms and hallways, and around the school and grounds.
• Clean spills such as vomit and other messes from children or adults.
• Dump trash in classrooms, clean chalkboards daily, sweep floors, dust rooms high and low, set classrooms up for the next day.
• Wash and organize desks for students and teachers; move desks and tables across the school, including stairs.
• Set up for PTAs in cafeteria, auditorium, and library, and set them back up afterward.
• Set up for special events and meetings.
• Vacuum floors, shampoo carpets, wash walls, fix lockers, clean rooms after after‑school programs, wash windows, and remove graffiti.
• Mop bathrooms, mop and wax hallway and classroom floors.
• Secure and lock all classrooms and exterior doors at the end of the day.
• Clean teacher's lounge.

Some knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment; ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and school staff; basic ability to read and speak/understand English.

GED or some high school. Some custodial experience preferable. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
