The Material Planner will be responsible for analyzing and executing material planning activities for assigned production areas or commodities. This role ensures appropriate inventory levels, supports efficient production flow, and escalates supply or production challenges as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze, plan, release, adjust, and cancel material orders using SAP/MRP.
- Determine cost‑effective transportation methods that meet delivery requirements.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to support production and spare‑parts demands.
- Apply ABC analysis to minimize excess and obsolete inventory.
- Conduct machine capacity planning and align production schedules with internal departments.
- Communicate with suppliers or work centers regarding material shortages, delays, quality issues, or demand fluctuations.
- Monitor production areas and suppliers against performance standards and recommend corrective actions.
- Review and report capacity requirements to identify potential production constraints.
- Maintain SAP master data, including lead times, firm zones, and tradeoff zones.
- Keep accurate records of order specifications, supplier performance, and historical activities.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound material flow among STIHL Group subsidiaries.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to address nonconforming materials and prevent recurrence.
- Support implementation of engineering changes.
- Bachelor’s degree in:
- Supply Chain Management
- Business Administration
- International Business
- Economics
- Finance
- 3–5 years of related experience
- Preferred credentials:
CPIM
, CSCP
, Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt
