Combo Welder / Structural Welder / Ship fitter

We are seeking an experienced combo welder, structural welder, and shipfitter to join our team. This role involves welding and fitting structural steel components in a shipyard or industrial environment. The ideal candidate is proficient in multiple welding processes and capable of reading blueprints, fitting materials, and performing high-quality welds to specification.

Responsibilities:

• Perform welding using multiple processes including Stick welding, MIG welding, and Flux-cored arc welding
• Fit, align, and assemble structural steel components according to blueprints and work instructions
• Read and interpret technical drawings, weld symbols, and layout plans
• Tack, fit, and weld structural parts for shipbuilding or repair
• Use hand tools, torches, grinders, and measuring equipment
• Inspect welds for accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work area
• Work in confined spaces, at heights, or in various weather conditions as required

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as a combo welder, structural welder, and shipfitter
• Proficiency in multiple welding processes (SMAW, GMAW, FCAW preferred)
• Ability to pass a welding test (plate and/or pipe, depending on project)
• Strong blueprint reading and layout skills
• Experience in shipyard, marine, or heavy structural environments preferred
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding work
• Reliable transportation and strong work ethic

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00-$45.00 Per hour
