Overview
ICU/Critical Care Registered Nurse – Southern 2 Market Regional Resource Pool (SAMC, SPAH, & SVBGH). This is a self‑scheduling flexi/prn position located in Virginia Beach, VA.
Work shift:
Third (Nights).
The team member must enter at least 72 hours pre‑scheduled time per 6‑week period (12 hrs/week) in the API system. The position offers premium differential pay and flexible self‑scheduling. Minimum two years of recent acute care RN experience is required in the specialty for which the nurse is applying. Nurses are expected to work in all units for which they are qualified and in a minimum of two different units.
- Must reside within 90 minutes of all three hospitals in the Southern 2 Market:
- Sentara Albemarle Medical Center – Elizabeth City, NC
- Sentara Princess Anne Hospital – Virginia Beach, VA
- Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital – Virginia Beach, VA
The Registered Nurse is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the nursing process. Responsibilities include assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation, in accordance with professional standards of practice and performance.
Education- Registered Nurse Diploma (Required)
- Registered Nurse License (Required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire for all direct care RNs
- Minimum of 2 years of most recent experience as an RN in an acute care setting
- Availability to work 12 hours per week as flexi status, with a minimum of 72 hours per 6 weeks, including 12 hours on weekend shifts
