OverviewThe Mid-Level Practitioner provides comprehensive primary care, acute care, and extended care services in nursing and medicine for individuals, families, and communities within the Mid-Level Practitioner's specialty area(s), settings, and scope of practice.
In this inpatient role, you will triage pregnant patients greater than 20 weeks gestation, perform vaginal exams, speculum exams, labor assessments, obtain specimens from the vaginal vault for labs, and assist in an emergent C‑Section by scratching to start the case until surgical assists arrive.
You will also be trained to perform limited fetal ultrasound.
Responsibilities- Triage pregnant patients >20 weeks gestation.
- Perform vaginal and speculum exams, labor assessments.
- Obtain specimens from vaginal vault for laboratory testing.
- Assist in emergent C‑Section (scrub, prepare case until surgical team arrives).
- Perform limited fetal ultrasound (training provided).
7‑24 hour shift per 4‑week schedule; no call.
Education- Master’s Level Degree NP/PA
- Registered Nurse License (RN), Compact/Multi‑State License.
- Authorization to Prescribe License, Certification – Other/National.
- Association (AHA) RQI.
- Physician Assistant License (PA) – State License – Other/National.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – Certification – American Heart Association (AHA) RQI.
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) – Certification – Other/National.
- Active NP/PA.
- Preferred experience in Labor & Delivery, Women’s Health, and Urgent Care.
- New graduates considered if they have prior L&D RN experience or extensive L&D clinical rotation.
