The Ellmer School of Nursing at Old Dominion University invites qualified advanced practice registered nurses with certification as a family nurse practitioner to apply for a full-time, 12-month, open rank faculty position in our graduate nursing program to start August 1, 2026. We are building a diverse faculty and searching for a faculty member who will contribute to our mission to transform healthcare by preparing exceptional nurses, extending nursing science, and partnering with our global community.
Faculty responsibilities will include didactic and clinical instruction in our advanced practice graduate nursing programs and mentoring graduate nursing students. Courses are offered year-round. Participation in scholarship will round out the faculty member’s workload.
QualificationsMinimum required experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities: Recent clinical experience as Family Nurse Practitioner.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience teaching in a graduate nursing program.
- Familiarity with online/web-enhanced teaching strategies.
- Completion of didactic coursework or certification in nursing education is a plus.
12-month faculty position with year-round teaching.
