The Bakery Assistant must be able to properly scale out, make, and bake recipes for breads, cakes, pies, etc. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Follow proper cleaning and sanitation procedure. Should be able to multitask and work efficiently in high demand situations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIESThe Bakery Assistant primary responsibilities will include:
- Previous experience working in a professional pastry or baking environment is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of pastry techniques, including dough preparation, cake baking, pastry fillings, and decoration.
- Familiarity with different pastry types, such as puff pastry, choux pastry, and shortcrust pastry.
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency in taste and presentation.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure precise measurements and timely production.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment, while maintaining high quality and standards.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, and the ability to adhere to them strictly.
- Creativity and a passion for pastry, with the ability to contribute to recipe development and menu innovation.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with the culinary team.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Two years bakery experience preferred
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to think clearly in an active work environment.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to prioritize work
