Job Description
The Processor Associate plays a key role in supporting the mission of DAV Thrift Store by ensuring donated goods are sorted, evaluated, and prepared for the sales floor. This position operates in the back warehouse, handling a high volume of donations and maintaining an organized, efficient workflow.
Responsibilities- Receive, sort, and process incoming donations including clothing, electronics, furniture, toys, books, and household items.
- Inspect items for quality, cleanliness, and functionality to determine whether they are sellable, salvageable, or trash.
- Tag, label, and price items according to store standards or clean items before they go to the sales floor to ensure they meet presentation standards.
- Fold, hang, or package merchandise as needed for proper display.
- Organize processed items and prepare them for pricing and placement on the sales floor.
- Safely lift, move, and handle items of varying sizes and weights.

Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high volumes of merchandise.
- Strong attention to detail when evaluating item condition.
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and move throughout the shift.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Previous warehouse, retail, or processing experience is helpful but not required.

The role is based in the back warehouse area, separate from the customer-facing storefront. The warehouse is climate-controlled and organized for steady donation processing. The team is small, typically consisting of 10–15 people. The pace is consistent and hands-on, with regular lifting, sorting, and movement of goods. The environment is structured, task-focused, and team-oriented.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Virginia Beach, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $15.00 - $16.00/hr.
