Role Description The Sales Floor Associate is a full-time, on-site role based at the Virginia Beach, VA showroom. This role involves welcoming customers, actively engaging with them on the sales floor, and providing knowledgeable guidance on designer jewelry, watches, and diamonds. The associate supports customers through the entire sales process, including product education, selection, sizing, and service follow-up. Daily responsibilities include maintaining merchandise displays, ensuring a clean and inviting showroom, processing transactions, and assisting with special orders and repairs.
The role also requires collaborating with team members to meet sales goals and uphold Long Jewelers' standards of service, professionalism, and integrity.
- Sales and customer service skills, including consultative selling, relationship building, and a strong customer-focused approach.
- Product knowledge and interest in fine jewelry, watches, and diamonds, with willingness to learn about designer brands and gemstone quality.
- Communication and interpersonal skills, including clear verbal communication, active listening, and professional presentation.
- Organizational and retail operations skills, such as handling point-of-sale systems, managing inventory on the sales floor, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work on-site full time, including weekends and holidays as needed, and to stand for extended periods in a showroom environment.
- Prior experience in retail, jewelry, or luxury goods sales is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications in sales or gemology (e.g., "GIA coursework") are a plus.
