Position: Neuroscience Account Manager (Psychiatry) - Virginia Beach, VA

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Execute and promote products in alignment with sales strategy in the assigned territory.
  • Collaborate with the District Sales Manager on day‑to‑day sales and product promotion activities.
  • Analyze local market; develop, execute, and monitor performance to maximize product use in defined territory.
  • Maintain current knowledge of product, disease, competition, and market reimbursement.
  • Determine, implement, and monitor optimal resource allocation (budgets, time, etc.) in the territory.
  • Use advanced selling and negotiation skills to communicate effectively with target audiences.
  • Identify, build, and leverage advocacy channels.
  • Secure product access and reimbursement within institutional systems as needed.
  • Manage travel and promotional budget.
  • Complete monitoring and reporting requirements (expenses and call reporting) using approved systems.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Meet healthcare provider/customer facility/state/local credentialing requirements.
  • Additional ad‑hoc projects as needed.
Education & Experience Requirements :
  • BS/BA with GPA > 3.0.
  • Minimum 3 years pharmaceutical sales experience preferred (may consider “Associate” otherwise).
  • Atypical anti‑psychotic and/or orphan drug experience preferred.
  • Specialty experience in psychiatry, bipolar, depression, CNS, or pain management preferred.
  • Reimbursement experience preferred.
  • Existing relationships (or within 24 months) with psychiatrists and/or Community Mental Health Centers in territory preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving history.
  • Self‑starter with proven above‑average results; “hunter” mentality.
  • Strong territory relationships/knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to travel (may include overnights) and occasionally out‑of‑territory travel to HQs/training/sales meetings.
  • Work hours may include meetings outside normal hours; must reside within territory geography.

  • Maintain valid driver’s license/acceptable driving record; may require lifting/moving up to 15 lbs.
