Summary The Leader in Training (LIT) and Floor Leader’s primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement: “To create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” The role performs a variety of sales, merchandising and operational tasks assigned by store management (e.g., cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine cleaning of facilities). Works directly with the Store Manager and Leadership Team to develop sales, recruit new teammates and provide leadership.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range$16-$20/hr base rate plus commission on sales for sales positions. Final offers are based on skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related factors.

Responsibilities- Greet guests with a friendly, engaging attitude and provide legendary service.
- Answer questions regarding store merchandise and recommend items that meet guest needs.
- Offer additional items, create a wardrobe experience and utilize product knowledge to enhance sales.
- Maintain current sales promotions and policies regarding payment, exchanges and security practices.
- Consistently meet personal sales‑per‑hour, average sales and total net sales goals set by store management.
- Provide service throughout Front 5, sales floor, fitting rooms and register area.
- Know all exchange and return procedures and turn these interactions into show‑managing opportunities.
- Record daily use of the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) to accomplish sales and presentation goals.
- Meet or exceed performance standards across Buckle business builders and guest loyalty programs.
- Expand guest selection through collaboration with Inventory Management and exploration of advanced product search tools.
- Build and maintain good guest relationships to develop a client‑based business.
- Lead by example with show‑manship, excellent customer service and attentiveness.
- Recognize and communicate guest tiers with the team.
- Ask business‑driven, show‑manship questions of Managers, Team Leaders and teammates.
- Accept coaching to improve sales presentation.
- Consistently perform leadership actions and maintain high standards even when Manager is not present.
- Recruit teammates through job cards, referrals and recommendations. Develop and coach new teammates in orientation, loss prevention and sales standards.
- Maintain a positive floor culture and demonstrate personal dress code standards.
- Participate in daily setup, training, performance tracking and mid‑week check‑ins.
- Identify and assign zones and projects to teammates, ensuring visual standards and checklists are followed.
- Recognize merchandising opportunities, communicate recommendations to the Store Manager and guide teammates in execution.
- Work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and certain holidays as required.
- Complete opening and closing checklists, handle security risks, follow loss‑prevention guidelines and execute POS procedures.
- Maintain positive attitude in challenging situations, adhere to payment and exchange policies and use store tools effectively.
- Cover scheduled shifts, provide feedback to management, and maintain a clean, organized store.
- Provide feedback on merchandise handling and communicate policy violations confidentially.
