HII Mission Technologies is seeking an experienced Certified Cabling Technician to support the installation, testing, and troubleshooting of structured cabling systems for DoD and federal customers. The ideal candidate holds a BICSI Technician (TECH) or BICSI Installer (INST1/INST2) certification, or an equivalent industry credential. This role focuses on delivering high quality copper and fiber infrastructure installations in accordance with BICSI, TIA, NEC, and DoD telecommunications standards.
WhatYou Will Do
- Install and terminate copper and fiber cabling in compliance with NGEN and Department of the Navy standards.
- Route, dress, and secure cabling throughout Navy shore facilities.
- Interpret cabling diagrams and follow instructions from senior technicians and project leads.
- Perform basic cable verification testing and assist with certification testing.
- Install racks, patch panels, cable management systems, grounding, and related hardware.
- Update NGEN ticketing systems and accurately document completed work.
- Follow Navy access control procedures, physical security guidelines, and PPE requirements.
- Support site surveys and contribute to as-built documentation.
- Maintain strict adherence to BICSI, TIA, NEC, DISA, and applicable telecommunications standards.
- 2 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; 0 years experience with a Master's degree in a related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years of relevant experience.
- Must have an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI.
- 1–3 years of experience in structured cabling installation.
- Ability to read basic drawings and use standard cabling tools.
- Understanding of safety practices and industry standards.
- BICSI Installer 1 certification.
- Experience working in Navy or DoD enterprise IT facilities.
- Experience with cable testers and verification tools.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in ceiling spaces or raised floor environments.
