HII Mission Technologies is seeking an enthusiastic and dependable Junior Cabling Technician to support the installation of structured cabling systems in mission critical communications environments. This is an entry level role designed for individuals beginning their careers in cabling, telecom, or IT infrastructure. Candidates will gain hands on field experience with opportunities for professional growth and advancement, including support toward BICSI certification.
WhatYou Will Do
- Assist senior technicians with the installation of copper and fiber optic cabling
- Pull, route, bundle, and label cables according to project specifications and standards
- Support installation of racks, cable pathways, and cable management systems
- Perform basic cable testing and documentation under supervision
- Maintain tools, equipment, and overall jobsite organization
- Follow safety protocols and site compliance requirements
- Learn and apply industry standards including TIA, BICSI, and NEC
- Support jobsite cleanup, inventory, and preparation of work areas
- 0 years experience with Bachelors in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience.
- Must have an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI.
- Basic familiarity with cabling, hand tools, and construction or installation environments.
- Strong work ethic, dependability, and willingness to learn.
- Interested in pursuing BICSI Installer 1 certification.
- Experience in telecom, cabling, electrical, construction, or similar technical trades.
- Experience working in military, government, or secure facilities.
- Familiarity with basic test equipment (toner, cable verifier, etc.).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in varied field conditions.
