Position Overview:
The Fiber optic Superintendent is responsible for leading and overseeing all field operations related to fiber optic installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance activities. This role provides day-to-day supervision of craft personnel, subcontractors, and field crews while ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications and quality standards. The Fiber optic Superintendent serves as the primary field leader for fiber optic construction activities and collaborates closely with project management, engineering, clients, and other trade partners.

Location:
This position is based in Boston, MA or Virginia Beach, VA. Responsibilities:
- Champion a culture of safety and ensure compliance with company, client, and regulatory safety requirements.
- Conduct daily safety meetings, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and site inspections.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
- Ensure all craft personnel are trained and equipped to perform work safely.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise all fiber optic construction activities, including: underground and aerial fiber installations, conduit and duct bank installation, fiber cable pulling and placement, fiber splicing and termination, testing, certification, and commissioning.
- Develop and execute short-term and long-term work plans.
- Monitor production rates and proactively address schedule impacts.
- Coordinate work with utility owners, contractors, inspectors, and clients.
- Directly supervise foremen, splicers, technicians, and craft personnel.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of telecommunications or fiber optic construction experience.
- 3+ years of supervisory experience leading field construction crews.
- Strong understanding of fiber optic installation methods, fiber splicing and testing procedures, termination of fiber optic cables, underground and aerial construction practices, telecommunications construction standards.
- Experience interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency with OTDR testing and fiber certification processes.
- Ability to travel and work extended hours as project needs require.

Base Compensation: $145,000/yr - $155,000/yr (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
