Independent Lighting & Electrical, locally owned and operated in Virginia Beach, VA with over 30 years of history, is looking for experienced electricians to join our growing team.
Electrician – Full-time ElectricianResponsibilities and Duties:
- Commercial ground up electrical buildouts, and installation, retrofit, and troubleshooting of commercial indoor and outdoor lighting systems
- Execute plans of electrical wiring for lighting and other electrical systems
- Install distribution components (e.g. switches, resistors, circuit‑breakers, panels etc.)
- Proficiently install electrical circuits and network cables, and ensure compatibility of components
- Install and support conduits, pull wire, terminate equipment and devices
- Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and the cause, replace damaged parts
- Supervise or lead a crew when necessary
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven journeymen level experience as an electrician
- Experience in commercial electrical systems and lighting
- Demonstrate ability to use electrical meters and hand and read electrical drawings and blueprints
- Thorough knowledge of lock out‑tag out safety procedures, regulations, and NEC codes
- Excellent critical thinking and problem‑solving ability - troubleshooting
- Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work full shifts
