QED Systems, an established marine engineering, planning, and ship modernization firm, is seeking qualified individuals experienced in marine mechanical applications. The candidate must be able to comply with all applicable safety regulations, work under industrial repair conditions, work in confined spaces, and climb vertical/inclined ladders. Candidate must be able to lay out, in both shop and shipboard environments, and form sub-assemblies, parts, and other shapes as required by drawings and sketches.

Install and fit parts, assemblies, pipes, fittings and valves.

Experienced (5+ years) Pipefitter with a complete understanding of production processes and specialty trades functions and tools.

The candidate must have experience using hand tools, fixtures, and shop machinery as required.

The candidate must have knowledge and experience in brazing and welding procedures.

The candidate must also be able to read, interpret, and follow blueprints or technical drawings and understand associated welding symbols.

Have completed an apprenticeship program or demonstrate by doing the experience outline above.

All applicants must provide a resume, be eligible for a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) credential.

Ability to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight will be determined by the specific job but no less than 30 pounds.

Some travel is possible.

High School Diploma required. Military technical school(s) desirable.

U.S. citizenship required. Must be able to access military facilities, naval shipyards, and private shipyards.
