HVAC​/R Start-up Technician

As an HVAC/R Start-up Technician at Cool Sys, you will commission and optimize new commercial and industrial HVAC-R systems for retail, commercial, and mission-critical customers. Working in the Engineering, Maintenance & Asset Management team, you'll perform start-up, testing, and troubleshooting of refrigeration racks, HVAC equipment, and controls to ensure safe, efficient performance. You'll interpret plans and schematics, complete detailed documentation, and partner closely with field and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform start-up, testing, and commissioning of new commercial HVAC/R systems for retail, commercial, and industrial customers
• Verify operation of refrigeration racks, condensers, evaporators, and HVAC equipment to meet design specifications
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and controls issues and complete corrective adjustments or repairs within scope
• Document start-up results, performance data, and recommendations for optimization and reliability
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and project teams to support safe, on-time project delivery
• Follow Cool
• Sys safety procedures, regulatory guidelines, and industry standards for refrigerants and electrical work
• Provide customer-focused communication on system status, findings, and best-practice operation
• Support continuous improvement, training, and technical development within the Cool
• Sys team
